Election of Three Parent Governors
We have received fourteen nominations for the three Parent Governor vacancies on our governing body, and are therefore holding a ballot to elect three candidates. The ballot is electronic, via MS Forms; parents are required to submit their names, as well as the name of their oldest child at the school as part of the voting process.
As there are three vacancies, each parent* of a registered student at the school will be allowed to vote for no more than three candidates.
Irrespective of the number of children who are registered as students at the school, each parent will only be allowed one ballot.
*Definition of a "parent" in accordance with the Education Act, 1996, Section 576:
"Parent", in relation to a child or young person, includes any person:
(a) who is not the natural parent but has ‘parental responsibility’ for the child
(b) who has care of the child.
Voting opens today, Tuesday 13th January, and the vote closes at 9:00am on Wednesday 21st January.
